CONTRACT BETWEEN PUPPY BUYER AND SAPPHIRE KENNEL
Pricing: Prices vary per litter plus
an additional charge for
shipping. There are occasions we can meet clients to deliver
puppy/dog.
Purchasing Agreement: a $100.00
non-refundable deposit will hold puppy/dog requested. If the puppy
is not paid for and picked up/shipped to within a reasonable time,
that has been agreed to and initialed by both parties, Sapphire
Kennel has the right to keep, sell or give away requested puppy.
Following full payment of puppy/dog, the
owner will receive a signed AKC registration or signed application
for one. If sold on a limited AKC registration, the buyer will
receive a signed limited registration paper or signed limited
application form. If puppy/dog is sold without any registration
papers or application form, the buyer will receive a signed bill
of sale. If none of these are provided to client at the
negotiation time, then there is no sale and puppy/dog remains the
property of Sapphire Kennel. If dog is placed with a client for a
period of time, client does not have ownership of puppy/dog at
this time.

Shipping: Pups must be at least
eight weeks of age, will have current vaccinations, veterinarian
examination and a certificate of health. An airline approved
travel crate and of course a puppy care package. New owner will
receive puppy care and feeding instructions before puppy arrives
to help lower the stress level and digestive problems for the new
puppy/dog. Since we live in a sparsely populated county, we
occasionally travel to larger surrounding cities for supplies.
There are occasions we can meet clients with a puppy/dog.
Health Guarantee: Sapphire Kennel
guarantees that to the best of our knowledge, this puppy/dog is in
good health. Sapphire Kennel guarantees that this puppy/dog can be
returned at buyer’s expense within FIVE days of purchase for any
health problems (parasites not included) and the purchase price
will be refunded. At no other time will purchase fee be refunded.
The buyer guarantees to take this puppy/dog to the veterinarian
during the five day period for a health examination and to advise
Sapphire Kennel of any problems.
If a puppy is diagnosed after a five day
period with a life threatening congenital hereditary defect, the
puppy can be returned at buyers expense to Sapphire Kennel and
replaced with another puppy of equal value shipped at buyers
expense. If puppy is not available at the time, the buyer will be
in line for a puppy of equal value. A written and signed statement
in detail of the defect from the veterinarian, who diagnosed the
problem, must precede the return of the puppy. If a puppy dies, a
full autopsy/necropsy at the buyer’s expense must be performed to
diagnose the problem. Full results must be sent to Sapphire
Kennel. At no time will Sapphire Kennel replace a puppy that has
been living in the new home for more than two months. This
provides plenty of time for any congenital hereditary defects to
appear.
After purchase, Sapphire Kennel assumes no
responsibility for expenses of any kind.
At this time no guarantees are made in the
areas of show quality. However, our dogs have come from champions
and we do plan to show our dogs in the near future.
Working Guarantee: Puppies bought
from Sapphire Kennel with the intention to be used for herding
dogs are sold with a guarantee to work livestock. For this
guarantee to be valid the puppy must be raised in an environment
that includes stock animals (horses, cows, sheep, goats, ducks,
etc.). If by the time the puppy is one year of age and shows no
desire to work livestock, then he can be returned (at buyers
expense) and replaced with another puppy of equal value. If a
puppy is not available at the time, the buyer will be in line for
a puppy of equal value. Puppy must have been exposed to
professional trainers, clinics, and/or seminars. Documentation of
herding behaviors must be sent to Sapphire Kennel including those
from professional herding trainers, clinics, and seminars prior to
replacement. Videos are desired as well.
We do want to know how your puppy/dog serves
you through its life time and will work with you to see that the
ownership of one of our puppy/dogs is a successful and gratifying
experience. Nothing less is acceptable.
Puppies Sold On A Limited Registration:
Puppies bought from Sapphire Kennel with a limited registration
are NOT to be used for breeding. Puppies are to be spayed/neutered
by one year of age. Once this procedure is performed vet
documentation is to be sent to Sapphire Kennel.

Buyers Responsibility: The buyer
agrees to provide this puppy/dog with the best health care and to
protect and care for it through its entire life. If for any reason
in the life of this puppy/dog a need comes that the buyer must
find another home for him, Sapphire Kennel will always accept the
puppy/dog back. The buyer guarantees that at no time this
puppy/dog will be turned over to the pound, humane society, or
rescue. There is no excuse for this to happen.
Sapphire Kennel can provide you
the best bred puppy possible within our ability. The outcome of
this puppy/dog depends on you. This puppy/dog can only be as good
as the environment and/or training provided. You can not get a
racehorse from two jackasses, but a racehorse raised with
jackasses will have the characteristics of a jackass. Plainly
put. I have never talked anyone into taking one of my pups. I ask
you to agree to the following if you plan to purchase one of my
pups. If you cannot for any reason I ask you to leave it where it
is. This puppy/dog belongs to me until it has another owner. It is
my responsibility to see that any perspective new owner will
finish what I have started. These Are Good Dogs For Good People.
This is my way of life, my standard to live by.
I ask you to research the breed. Make sure
this breed is for you. These dogs are not meant for everyone and I
believe smarter than some folks. If you take a puppy/dog see that
it reaches its full potential. These dogs can be just as happy
sharing the recliner if that is what you desire. Be involved, make
plans. Enroll him and yourself in an obedience class first thing.
Provide exercise and plenty of chew toys so he doesn’t have to
shop around. Be patient. It will take about two years to humanize
him. You will then have a loyal companion that will look deeply
into your soul with intense soft eyes that do not miss a thing
involving you, his world. Show him kindness, they never forget. If
he outsmarts you, and he will, get smarter. You will see what I
mean. They are not for the passive. They will master the passive.
If you want excitement, to live life to its fullest, and a
companion that will give its life for you, then this is the breed
for you. Come into my world. I wouldn’t have it without an ACD at
my side.
